Nock On (2022)
by Elizabeth Solich, oil on canvas board, mixed media.
Idiomysis is a genus of small mysids found in warm, shallow waters of the Indian and the Pacific oceans. If looking carefully, divers can spot them when diving our popular SA dive sites. They are tiny and they are actually everywhere. These tiny hovering shrimps have recently invented a new game call “nock-on” utilizing a plastic nocks for arrow-insert shaft, ideal for use with fibreglass arrows. When out of the ocean, this made of plastic nock fits inside the arrow shaft and it is useful for archery players at practice and competition levels
