This elusive natured cephalopods are one of the world’s most beautiful, most strange, most danger and most intelligent creatures. The mating ritual begins when a male approaches a female and begins to caress her with his modified arm, the hectocotylus. They are not aggressive creatures and tend to avoid confrontation by flattening their body and blending into their surroundings. Humans have only been injured when a blue-ringed octopus is provoked or stepped on.
